Benjamin Fuchs graduated from Wesleyan University in 2011 where he studied Neuroscience and Behavior and received high honors in the Science in Society program. He wrote his senior thesis on the history and philosophy of American psychiatry, with specific reference to the NIMH Research Domain Criteria project and the development of a pluralistic model for psychiatric research and practice. Benjamin is interested in the neural circuitry underlying emotional regulation and hopes to conduct future research investigating interactions between prefrontal cortex and the limbic system. He is also interested in issues of psychiatric nosology and the evolution of psychiatric disorder classification.
